Can AI agents automate Rhinoceros?

Rhinoceros 8 is automatable today through McNeel's first-party geometry and scripting stack, not through a public SaaS REST catalog. RhinoCommon is the cross-platform .NET plugin SDK for Rhino for Windows, Rhino for Mac, Rhino.Python, and Grasshopper; it ships as royalty-free NuGet packages and covers commands, geometry, documents, rendering, and file I/O. Rhino 8's unified ScriptEditor runs CPython 3.9 and C# in both Rhino and Grasshopper, with inline PyPI and NuGet packages, and can publish scripts as .rhp, .gha, and Yak packages. Grasshopper remains the bundled visual-programming environment and has its own component SDK. From Rhino 8, code-driven FileIO reads and writes any format Rhino supports, including through headless RhinoDoc instances. rhino3dm reads and writes .3dm geometry outside Rhino in .NET, Python, and JavaScript. Rhino.Compute adds a self-hosted HTTP REST surface for 2400-plus RhinoCommon operations and Grasshopper definitions, with official Python, JavaScript, and .NET clients; production callers send a RhinoComputeKey header. Compute is not a multi-tenant McNeel cloud API: a workstation uses a normal Rhino license, while Windows or Linux servers use core-hour billing, and macOS is not a Compute host. The rhinocode CLI (Rhino 8.11 and later) lists running instances as JSON, runs commands and scripts against a live session after StartScriptServer, and can build script projects without Rhino. This is a deep licensed desktop path. No first-party MCP, named low-code connector, or computer-use result was established. This record is Rhinoceros 8, including Grasshopper.
