Can AI agents automate SketchUp?

SketchUp has mature first-party automation for desktop models and model files. Its embedded Ruby API controls the active model, geometry, entities, components, materials, tags, scenes, cameras, rendering, selections, tools, commands, observers, import, export and custom HTML dialogs. Extensions can package repeatable workflows as RBZ files, and the LayOut Ruby API creates or modifies presentation documents from the same SketchUp host. The native C API can run in a standalone Windows or macOS process to create, read and modify SKP files, or provide importer and exporter modules; a live C mode offers read-only access to the open model. This makes file generation and source-owned extensions strong automation paths. The main limits are that Ruby and LayOut execute inside licensed desktop SketchUp, calls must stay on the main thread, C binaries and model formats are version-coupled, live C access is read-only, and none of these desktop APIs establishes equivalent control of SketchUp for Web or mobile. No product-specific first-party MCP, general CLI, verified named low-code connector, repeatable visual RPA result or computer-use result was established.
