Can AI agents automate ThoughtSpot?

ThoughtSpot · hybrid · business-intelligencereporting

ThoughtSpot is automatable today through REST API v2.0 and a hosted first-party Spotter MCP server. REST API v2.0 has been generally available on ThoughtSpot instances since 9.0.0.cl. It uses JSON CRUD over resource collections including metadata, users, Liveboards, searchdata, and TML export and import. Authentication is a Bearer token from POST /api/rest/2.0/auth/token/full, using username and password or a trusted-auth secret_key, or a session cookie from /api/rest/2.0/auth/session/login. MFA blocks username and password on the session login endpoint. Data endpoints such as searchdata and Liveboard or Answer data and reports require administrator or DATADOWNLOADING privilege. Default rate limit is 100 public API requests per second per client IP on 26.2.0.cl and later. Official SDKs are the TypeScript REST API SDK and the Visual Embed SDK (JavaScript) for Liveboards, Search, Spotter, and full-app embed. Spotter MCP is hosted by ThoughtSpot at https://agent.thoughtspot.app/mcp for OAuth apps and https://agent.thoughtspot.app/token/mcp for bearer-token apps. It is an add-on for ThoughtSpot Enterprise Edition and ThoughtSpot Embedded. Current URLs support date-based ?api-version=YYYY-MM-DD pinning. https://agent.thoughtspot.app/openai/mcp and https://agent.thoughtspot.app/bearer/mcp are deprecated and must not be treated as current. Documented MCP capabilities include tool discovery, natural-language queries, Liveboard and visualization creation, embeddable visualizations, and content search. Webhooks deliver scheduled Liveboard notifications and KPI monitor alerts. No official CLI was established from the opened pages. Zapier, Make, Power Automate, and n8n listings were not opened. Computer-use viability is unassessed. API scores 8 and is the best path because Spotter MCP is a licensed Enterprise or Embedded add-on.
