Can AI agents automate Looker?

Looker, Google's semantic-layer BI platform and not Looker Studio, is automatable today through Looker API 4.0. The API is JSON REST. Google states that the vast majority of in-product work can be done through it. Agents authenticate with user-bound API keys (client ID and client secret, historically API3) via /login, or with OAuth after an admin registers a CORS client. Official SDKs exist for Python, Ruby, and TypeScript. Looker (Google Cloud core) editions cap monthly query and admin API calls, and managed MCP tool calls count toward those quotas. A first-party Looker-managed MCP server is documented at LOOKER_INSTANCE_URL/mcp with OAuth 2.1. It is preview, Looker-hosted only, and off by default until an admin enables tools. Customer-hosted Looker is out of the preview; Google points those instances at MCP Toolbox for Databases. Zapier lists a Looker app. Make, Power Automate, and n8n were not established. There is no official Looker CLI. Computer-use viability is unassessed. API scores 8 and is the best path because MCP is preview-gated.
