Can AI agents automate Snowflake?

Snowflake is automatable today through a public SQL REST API and first-party in-account MCP servers. The SQL API executes SQL over HTTPS at /api/v2/statements. Authentication methods documented on the SQL API intro are OAuth, key-pair JWT, and programmatic access tokens. Requests and responses are JSON, including async statements and partitioned results. This is a machine interface for warehouse SQL, not only account administration. First-party MCP servers are created inside a customer account with CREATE MCP SERVER. They can expose Cortex Agent, Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, SYSTEM_EXECUTE_SQL, and generic UDF or stored-procedure tools. Analyst tools require semantic views and cannot run arbitrary SQL. Recursive MCP calls are capped at 10. There is no shared public MCP URL; each account hosts its own server. Snowflake-Labs/mcp is a related open-source server and is not a substitute for the in-account product. Official Snowflake CLI manages Snowflake objects from the terminal. Official language SDK coverage was not established from the opened SQL API and MCP pages. n8n publishes a Snowflake node. Zapier, Make, and Power Automate listings were not opened. Computer-use viability is unassessed. API and MCP both score 8; API is the best path because MCP is account-local and tool capability depends on which Cortex objects are attached.
