Can AI agents automate Shortcut?

Shortcut is automatable today through its REST API. Version 3 is the current API at https://api.app.shortcut.com/api/v3. Responses are JSON. Requests send a Shortcut-Token header. Tokens are created under account API token settings and grant complete access to that Shortcut account. A token query parameter is still accepted and is documented as deprecated. The API is limited to 200 requests per minute. Create Story adds a story when a workflow state is provided. Create Generic Integration registers a webhook URL. Shortcut also hosts an MCP server at https://mcp.shortcut.com/mcp with OAuth. The help page says Stories and Docs can be retrieved, created, and updated. Epics and Iterations can be retrieved and created. Objectives, Teams, Members, and Workflows are read-only on that page. The homepage says the product is free forever with no credit card required. The archived useshortcut/mcp-server-shortcut repository is not the current server. Zapier, Make, Power Automate, and n8n were not assessed. A published language SDK and a general CLI were not established. Computer-use viability is unassessed. API scores 8. MCP scores 7. API is the best path because an API token calls the workspace REST API directly, without an MCP client or a browser OAuth consent.
