Can AI agents automate Rootly?

Rootly is automatable today through a JSON:API REST interface and a first-party hosted MCP server. The API is at https://api.rootly.com/v1 and uses application/vnd.api+json. Callers send Authorization Bearer with an API key or an OAuth 2.0 access token. Official SDKs are listed for TypeScript, Rust, Python, Go, Swift, Ruby, and Java. Default rate limits are 3,000 reads and 3,000 writes per minute per key; alert creation is 50 per minute. Hosted Product MCP is at https://mcp.rootly.com. Code Mode at /mcp-codemode is recommended instead of registering about 200 OpenAPI-generated tools on /mcp. Auth is OAuth2 or a Bearer API token. Sensitive deletes and API-key management are excluded from the default tool surface. A separate Docs MCP at docs.rootly.com/mcp is read-only documentation search, not the product automation surface. The official CLI uses ROOTLY_API_TOKEN and supports table, JSON, YAML, and markdown output. Outgoing webhooks are HMAC-SHA256 signed. This record excludes PagerDuty and incident.io. Connector catalogs were not opened. Computer-use viability is unassessed. API and MCP both score 8; API is the best path because it does not require choosing Code Mode versus the large classic tool surface.
