Can AI agents automate Autodesk Fusion?

Autodesk Fusion has broad first-party automation across local CAD, CAM, electronics, simulation, collaboration data, and a newly supported cloud engine. The desktop object model is shared by Python and C++, with TypeScript in preview in the July 2026 release. Scripts perform bounded tasks and unload; persistent add-ins add commands, UI, events, palettes, file access, and external integrations. The model covers sketches, solids and surfaces, assemblies, configurations, custom features, drawings, manufacturing setups and toolpaths, CAM libraries and feature recognition, electronics, imports, exports, and document data. Autodesk Platform Services can now run TypeScript scripts against the Fusion engine as asynchronous Automation API work items, enabling cloud geometry creation, model modification, CAM calculation, analysis, and multi-format import or export without a desktop session. APS Data Management and the Fusion-oriented manufacturing data model expose cloud projects, files, versions, metadata, components, bills of materials, storage, and milestone webhooks. Local APIs still require a running licensed Fusion application, C++ binaries are platform-specific, TypeScript is preview and sandboxed, and cloud work uses OAuth, packaged activities, storage URLs, engine lifecycle rules, and paid quotas. No product-specific first-party MCP, general business CLI, verified named low-code connector, repeatable visual RPA result, or computer-use result was established.
