Can AI agents automate Upstash?

Upstash is automatable today through its hosted MCP server. This record is the Upstash serverless data platform: Redis, QStash, Workflow, Vector, Search, Box, and Blob. Context7 is a separate Upstash product. Redis software generally, Supabase, and PlanetScale are separate products. The recommended remote server is https://mcp.upstash.com/mcp over streamable HTTP. OAuth is the default and can be limited to read-only. Headless clients send Authorization: Bearer email:API_KEY. The docs list 55 tools. A features query parameter can limit the tool groups. Read-only keys disable state-changing tools. Data-plane credentials stay on the server unless a management tool is called with include_credentials. The Developer API uses HTTP Basic authentication with the account email as the username and the API key as the password. The same key authenticates the CLI and the MCP server. The introduction says the API can automate what you can do in the console. It is limited to native Upstash accounts, not accounts created through Vercel or Fly.io. The CLI installs as npm i -g @upstash/cli, signs in with upstash login, and prints JSON for Redis, team, vector, search, QStash, and Blob commands. upstash redis exec uses the database REST token, not the developer API key. upstash start-redis creates a temporary database without an account and that database expires in 72 hours.
