Can AI agents automate Microsoft Advertising?

Microsoft · saas · marketingenterprise

Microsoft Advertising is automatable today through the Bing Ads API v13. This record is Microsoft Advertising (formerly Bing Ads), not Google Ads, Meta Ads, Microsoft 365, or Azure. Any Advertising user with a developer token can call the API. Calls require an OAuth AuthenticationToken plus a developer token; the UI password is not accepted. Microsoft identity (Azure Entra ID) is the documented OAuth path; Google OAuth is documented as an additional identity provider. Official SDKs exist for .NET, Java, PHP, and Python. The API still documents SOAP envelopes and also documents REST URLs such as Campaigns/QueryByAccountId on campaign.api.bingads.microsoft.com. Microsoft is moving new features to REST from 2026-10-01 and has scheduled SOAP deprecation for 2027-01-31. Developer tokens come from the Advertising Developer Portal with Super Admin sign-in. Microsoft hosts a remote MCP server at https://partner.api.bingads.microsoft.com/ext/mcp/vnext with Azure AD OAuth. Setup docs use toolSetNames=OpenBeta for Copilot Studio, VS Code, and Claude. The product page describes launch coverage as campaign, ad group, ad, and keyword exploration plus performance metrics and campaign-setup audits, not a mutate surface. Connector catalogs were not opened. Computer-use viability is unassessed. API scores 8 and is the best path because campaign create and reporting do not depend on the OpenBeta MCP toolset.
