Can AI agents automate Granola?
Granola · saas · meetingsproductivity
Granola is automatable today through its public API. This record is the Granola meeting-notes workspace. The API base in the quick start is https://public-api.granola.ai/v1. Requests send Authorization Bearer with a key prefixed grn_. Any workspace member on a Business or Enterprise plan can create a personal API key in the desktop app under Settings, Connectors, API keys. Scopes are personal notes and public notes. On Enterprise, an admin chooses which scopes members may use. Workspace API keys are admin-managed, do not expire, and read public notes plus spaces that allow API access. They do not read private notes. Keys are rate limited to a burst of 25 and a sustained 5 requests per second. Webhooks are on Business and Enterprise. There is no sandbox. Granola hosts MCP at https://mcp.granola.ai/mcp with Streamable HTTP. Standard auth is browser OAuth with dynamic client registration. Enterprise-managed authorization can replace that consent flow. Each connection still acts as one Granola user. MCP has no API key or service-account method. Documented tools include query_granola_meetings. Notes returned are those the user can access in the active workspace. https://docs.granola.ai/llms.txt is a first-party documentation index. A published language SDK and connector-catalog entries were not opened. Computer-use viability is unassessed. API and MCP each score 7. API is the best path because a key calls notes and transcripts without a browser login. MCP is for assistants and cannot use a service account.
Best path today: api · Overall automatability: 7/10
