Can AI agents automate Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance?

Dynamics 365 Finance is automatable through the shared Finance and Operations service endpoints and a first-party ERP MCP server. The OData V4 /data endpoint exposes IsPublic data entities for create, read, update, and delete, with query options, batch changesets, and cross-company filters. SOAP and JSON custom services remain available beside REST metadata. Authentication is Microsoft Entra OAuth 2.0 using authorization code or client-credentials service principals registered in Entra and mapped in Microsoft Entra applications. Callers must send every entity-key field, and default queries return only the user's default company. The Dynamics 365 ERP MCP server adds data, form, and action tools under the authenticated user's security. It requires finance and operations version 10.0.47 or listed PU baselines, Feature Management enablement, an allowed MCP client, and a Tier 2 or Unified Developer Environment. An earlier static 13-tool server is scheduled to retire on 2026-10-01. Microsoft's finance and operations Power Automate connector supports entity CRUD, bound actions, and business-event triggers, but not on-premises instances. Computer-use viability is unassessed.
