Can AI agents automate ConfigCat?
ConfigCat · hybrid · developer-tools
ConfigCat is automatable today through its Public Management API. This record is the ConfigCat feature-flag and configuration service. The pricing page lists a Forever Free plan and paid plans, and it says the service is hosted or on-premise. The Management API base URL is https://api.configcat.com. It is HTTP REST, returns JSON, and creates, reads, updates, and deletes feature flags, configs, environments, and products. Requests use HTTP Basic credentials created on the Public API credentials page. The same page says not to use this API to evaluate flag values, and points evaluation at the SDKs or the ConfigCat Proxy. OpenAPI v3 and Swagger v2 specifications are published, and rate limits return HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header. The SDK overview says the SDKs download and cache flag values and evaluate targeting rules, and it names Java, C++, Dart, Elixir, Go, JavaScript, Kotlin Multiplatform, PHP, Python, and Ruby clients. Webhooks call a public HTTP endpoint when a setting changes. The first-party MCP server is the npm package @configcat/mcp-server. It calls the Public Management API with CONFIGCAT_API_USER and CONFIGCAT_API_PASS, and the documented default host is https://api.configcat.com. Documented tools cover organizations, products, configs, environments, flags, segments, webhooks, and audit logs. A first-party llms.txt index was not established. Connector catalogs were not opened. Computer-use viability is unassessed. API scores 8. MCP scores 7. API is the best path because a Basic credential calls the Management API directly, while the MCP server is a local process over that same API.
