Can AI agents automate Adobe Premiere Pro?

Adobe · desktop · design

Adobe Premiere Pro is automatable today through first-party UXP JavaScript plugins and the Premiere DOM API on a licensed Windows or macOS desktop. This record is Premiere Pro, the professional video-editing application. It is not Adobe After Effects, not Adobe Photoshop, and not Adobe Illustrator. Adobe's Premiere UXP hub states that UXP is built into Premiere and other Creative Cloud apps, is powered by a modern JavaScript engine, and exposes Premiere functions programmatically so developers can build custom tools. The Premiere API reference documents const app = require("premierepro") for opening and modifying documents, with asynchronous method calls and Project.getActiveProject / getActiveSequence examples. UXP plugins are scaffolded with the UXP Developer Tool against Premiere v25.6 or later and appear under Window > UXP Plugins. Hybrid plugins, documented from Premiere 26.2, load C++ .uxpaddon libraries through require(). Adobe HelpX technical requirements for Premiere 26.0 and 26.2 list Windows 11 v24H2 and require an Internet connection, Adobe ID, and license acceptance. Creative Cloud OS policy states that Adobe video apps support Windows 11 v24H2 and macOS 14, 15, and 26. No first-party Premiere MCP, general operations CLI, named low-code connector, or computer-use result was established. UXP scripting and plugins are the best path.

No repeatable UI probe was run. Official UXP plugins, the Premiere DOM via require("premierepro"), and UXP Hybrid C++ addons automate a licensed Premiere desktop install through supported extension surfaces instead of visual UI driving. This record is Premiere Pro, not After Effects, Photoshop, or Illustrator. Computer-use viability is not inferred from the desktop UI.
