Can AI agents automate Personio?

Personio HR is automatable today through the public Personio API. This record is Personio, not Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Simployer, or 4human HRM. Custom API credentials require the Core Pro plan and are created under Marketplace > Connected integrations. Personnel calls authenticate with an OAuth 2 client-credentials grant at https://api.personio.de/v2/auth/token using client_id, client_secret, and grant_type=client_credentials. Tokens are Bearer tokens, default lifetime one day. The Recruiting API still uses a separate account-level access token from the credentials section. v1 covers employees, attendances, absences, recruiting job and application posts, custom reports, and webhook administration. v2 adds persons and employments, compensations, documents, org units, and recruiting reads for jobs, candidates, and applications. Coverage is partial: employee attribute reads are whitelisted, v1 does not automatically expose most salary fields, custom reports are GET-only, and recruiting v2 currently omits custom attributes and tags. Personio documents HTTPS webhooks with HMAC-SHA256 signatures for person, employment, absence, attendance, and document events. Personio also documents a first-party tenant MCP server in beta at https://<company>.app.personio.com/mcp. An administrator must enable it; it is not available for every tenant; write tools such as requesting time off are off by default; and Personio says the MCP server is not a replacement for scheduled API integrations. The Developer Hub publishes a genuine llms.txt index. Official SDKs, a Personio CLI, and iPaaS connector status were not established. Computer-use viability is unassessed. API scores 7 and is the best path. MCP scores 5 as a limited vendor preview.
