Can AI agents automate Miro?
Miro · saas · collaborationdesign
Miro is automatable today through a vendor-hosted MCP server and REST API v2. The remote MCP endpoint at https://mcp.miro.com/ authenticates with OAuth 2.1 and dynamic client registration. Documented tools read and write boards, Mermaid diagrams, documents, tables, images, code widgets, comments, prototypes, and multi-item canvas layouts. Miro says MCP works on all plans, including free teams, with daily tool-call allowances of 100 on Free, 500 on Starter, 2,000 on Business, and 10,000 on Enterprise. Enterprise tenants have MCP off by default until an admin enables it under Admin settings → Apps & Integrations → MCP and may allowlist clients. A connection is one team at a time. Some layout and diagram tools are deprecated or migrating to SVG canvas tools. Summarize (`context_get`) consumes Miro AI credits. REST API v2 at https://api.miro.com/v2/boards uses OAuth 2.0 authorization-code tokens as Bearer credentials. It can create, read, update, and delete boards and many item types, including sticky notes, cards, shapes, frames, connectors, images, and documents. Comments have no REST CRUD. Team, organization, and project endpoints, plus PDF, SVG, or HTML board-export jobs, are Enterprise-gated. Official Node.js and Python clients exist and ship from an OpenAPI spec, but Miro says it will publish no new client versions after 2026-11-01 and will keep the OpenAPI spec. The official CLI is create-miro-app, which scaffolds apps and does not operate boards. Zapier and Make publish Miro apps for boards and items. Microsoft lists a premium Independent Publisher Power Automate connector. n8n documents Miro OAuth credentials for the HTTP Request node rather than a dedicated Miro node. Computer-use viability is unassessed. API and MCP both score 8. MCP is the best path for agents because it is the official remote server with write tools, including comments that REST does not expose. Use the REST API when the job needs webhooks, Enterprise org APIs, or deterministic backends that must not consume the daily MCP allowance.
Best path today: mcp · Overall automatability: 8/10
