Can AI agents automate Factorial?
Factorial HR is automatable today through its public API. The current developer index is version 2026-07-01 and lists attendance shifts, employees, time off, and other resources, plus webhook subscriptions. API keys are sent as x-api-key. They do not expire and the API keys page says they have total access for the company, so an administrator creates them for internal integrations. Marketplace integrations must use OAuth 2. OAuth access tokens are sent as Authorization Bearer. The current OAuth page says both user tokens and company tokens last 1 hour and can be refreshed. Official SDKs are @factorialco/api-client for TypeScript and factorial-api-client for Python. They accept an API key or an OAuth bearer token. Factorial hosts an MCP server at https://mcp.factorialhr.com using Streamable HTTP and OAuth 2.0 with dynamic client registration. Direct tools cover clock in and out, tasks, time off, and employee lookup, and they run as the signed-in user. A Factorial One tool can reach policies, contracts, and reports when the plan includes it, and those calls consume Factorial One credits. https://apidoc.factorialhr.com/llms.txt is a first-party API index. This record does not include Factorial Code. Zapier, Make, Power Automate, and n8n were not assessed. A general CLI was not established. Computer-use viability is unassessed. API scores 8. MCP scores 7. API is the best path because an API key or OAuth token calls the versioned HR resources directly, without an MCP client and without Factorial One credits.
