Can AI agents automate Atlassian Compass?

Atlassian Compass is automatable today through the Compass GraphQL API on Atlassian's gateway. This record is Compass cloud, the component catalog and scorecards. It is not Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Loom, Trello, or MongoDB Compass. Compass is Cloud only. The Free plan includes up to three full users. OAuth clients call https://api.atlassian.com/graphql. Browser sessions and API tokens call https://{site}.atlassian.net/gateway/api/graphql. Published Compass scopes cover read and write of components, events, metrics, and scorecards. Forge apps can call the same gateway as the app or as the user. The @atlassian/forge-graphql toolkit documents getComponent and createComponent, including a depends-on relationship. The toolkit page was last updated in November 2021, and the scope page in November 2024. The GraphQL schema is unversioned, and beta fields require an X-ExperimentalApi header. The Compass product page says scorecards and catalog functionality will transition into DX. Atlassian's remote MCP server at https://mcp.atlassian.com/v2/mcp lists Compass permission groups read_compass and write_compass as OAuth 2.1 only, with example prompts for creating a component and querying dependencies. The supported-tools page opened on 2026-10-02 does not list those Compass tools. Teamwork Graph can start from a Compass component. API and MCP both score 6. The API is the best path because token and Forge access are documented and the MCP tool names are not on the current tool inventory. Computer-use viability is unassessed.
